Thesis Review

Today I had my second thesis review of the quarter.  I have to be honest I was really really nervous about this one especially because of how the previous thesis meeting went.  I even brought my good luck duck with me!!!  I was happily surprised because this one thankfully went A LOT better than my last thesis review.  My new project seemed to get a much better reaction than my previous project dealing with bands.  I hung up both the cookie photo and the cheeseburger photo and was told that they are both good but they are going in two separate directions.  The cheeseburger one shows how the consumerism approach to show "fake" food as an edible item.  While the cookies show sort of a false gesture of love by someone taking the time to bake you cookies but the cookies aren't really real.  I was pretty much told that I can really go either route for the photos, the commercial advertisement route or the comforting false gesture route.  At this point I am sort of leaning more towards the advertisement commercial route because the part that really got me interested was the fact that we really do live in a society that sort of praises "fake" food.  Even more so, it is so interesting to me that the food that we see on menus, has been so manipulated to look good that what they are advertising really is "fake" food.  Anyway I am really quite excited at how well it went because like I said, I was completely nervous.  My good luck duck paid off!!!!
